COLUMBIA, Mo. - After overnight rains prevented the University of Missouri baseball team from starting its fall practice season today, the Tigers are still making preparations for its annual Black and Gold intrasquad game tomorrow (Friday) night at Ralph & Debbie Taylor/Phi Delta Theta Stadium.
Following introduction on the field of the 1952 baseball team to commemorate the 50th anniversary of Mizzou's first berth in the NCAA College World Series at 6:15 p.m., first pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m.
The team, under ninth-year head coach Tim Jamieson, will then conduct 17 practices before wrapping up the fall season with the annual Fall World Series over Homecoming weekend. The squad will play five nine-inning games from Friday, Oct. 25 through Wednesday, Oct. 30; they will take Homecoming Saturday off. Most weekday practices will take place at 2:30 p.m., while weekend practice times will vary. All are open to the public.
