LINCOLN, Neb -
The Missouri women's swimming and diving teams finished in third place at the Big 12 Relay Meet at the Devaney Sports Center Pool in Lincoln, Nebraska. The women's team finished 3 points behind Texas A&M 71-68, for second place. The University of Texas finished in first with 120 points followed by A&M and Mizzou. Kansas (60 points), Iowa State (51 points) and host Nebraska (25 points) followed the Tigers.
The team of Sarah Lo, Mariona Costa and Tiffany Bohon finished first in the 150 breaststroke relay with a time of 1:31.22. The Tigers finished second in five different relay events (200 free, 300 back, 300 fly, 200 medley and the 3-Meter dive) and third in three events (150 back, 150 fly and 300 breast).
"I thought we swam very well, especially in the breaststroke and backstroke events," said head coach Brian Hoffer. "I'm not suprised by all means, I knew we would swim very good and it showed in the results."
The women's team will return to action tomorrow at the Devaney Sports Center Pool. The women will compete in a tri-meet against Nebraska and Texas A&M. The start time for the meets is 9:00 a.m.
