Manhattan, Kan.. - The Missouri Men's Golf team finished the first two rounds of the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate hosted by Kansas State on Monday in eighth place, twenty strokes behind tournament leader Southern Methodist University (307-297 = 604). Mizzou as a team ended the day with two identical rounds (312-312 = 624) and 48 strokes over par despite adverse weather conditions which included gusty southerly winds.
Leading the Tigers was junior Brandon Knaub, he finished the day tied for sixth place with 151 strokes and seven over par (74-77 = 151). Knaub is seven strokes behind tournament leader Aaron Watkins of Kansas State who shot par both rounds (72-72 = 144) and is on top of the leader board at even.
Junior transfer David Jenkins carded a total of 157 strokes (76-81 = 157) and finished tied for 24th at 13 over par. Tiger teammates Michael Radek (79-79 = 158) and Chris Mabry (83-75 = 158) finished tied for 32nd place, 14 strokes over par. Rounding out the Tigers scoring was Chris Happ concluding the day 23 strokes over par (t-60, 85-82 = 167).
