Registration Open For 9th Annual Tiger Bullpen Scramble

Sept. 17, 2002

COLUMBIA, Mo. - Registration is now open for the ninth annual Tiger Bullpen Scramble, which benefits the Missouri baseball program. The scramble is the showcase event of the start of the fall practice season, and will take place on Friday, Oct. 4, at A.L. Gustin Golf Course in Columbia.

Registration begins at noon at Gustin, which will have its practice range open for any duffers needing to take a couple of mulligans before actually using them. Golfing begins at 1:30 p.m., a buffet with golf prizes will take place at the Taylor Stadium Pavilion at 6 p.m., and first pitch of the Black-and-Gold intrasquad scrimmage is at 7 p.m. The scrimmage is the first chance of the year for fans to see the 2003 edition of head coach Tim Jamieson's team, which returns five position players and five pitchers who saw significant playing time last season.

Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams in each of three flights, and the outing will also feature the standard longest-drive and closest-to-the-pin holes.

For more information and a registration form, or to sign up for Tiger Bullpen memberships and scramble hole sponsorships, contact assistant coach Evan Pratte at (573) 882-1917.

For golfers who want to make a weekend of their visit to Columbia, tickets are also available for purchase to the Saturday, Oct. 5, football game against Oklahoma at Faurot Field. Game time is still to be announced, but fans may call the ticket office at 1-800-CAT-PAWS.
