Football Practice Report for August 15th

Columbia, Mo. - The Missouri Tigers continued preparations for their Aug. 31 opener vs. Illinois today in fall training camp. Mizzou dressed out in full pads this morning and had a workout of just over two hours.

Following were some highlights of the scrimmaging that took place:

*- Kirk Farmer connected with Thomson Omboga twice in early 11-on-11 scrimmaging.

*- Zack Abron had a nice gain over right tackle vs. the #1 defense. The defense returned the favor shortly thereafter, stuffing Abron on a short yardage situation.

*- Mario Whitney turned heads when he scampered for a 50-yard TD run off left tackle vs. the #2 defense.

*- Antwaun Bynum twice blew up pass plays with penetration during 1s vs. 1s inside the red zone.

*- T.J. Leon had a 15-yard TD run off the left side.

*- Alex Pettersen nailed a 33-yard field goal.

*- Michael Harden had an interception near the goalline.

*- Tyrone Roberson had a 7-yard TD run vs. the #1 defense.

*- Earl Stephens had a catch and run for a TD, as he fought several would-be tacklers.

*- Kirk Farmer connected with Shirdonya Mitchell in the left corner of the endzone for a 9-yard score.

*- Josh Hibbets scored on a 9-yard keeper, benefitting from a nice block from Clint Matthews.

*- Darius Outlaw had a nice catch along the sideline from Sonny Riccio.

*- Atiyyah Ellison had a sack of Brad Smith.

*- Brad Smith connected with Arnold Britt for a long pass.

Missouri will hit the practice field Friday with two sessions, in preparation for the public scrimmage to be held Saturday at Faurot Field. Scrimmage time is 1 p.m., and all fans are welcome to attend.
