Little Rock, Ark. - The University of Missouri men's golf team finished in 20th place at the NCAA Central Regional, which wrapped up with 18 holes of play today at Pleasant Valley Country Club. With only the top 10 teams advancing to the upcoming NCAA Championships, Missouri's season came to an end, but it marked one of the more successful campaigns in recent program history. MU's regional appearance marked the first for the school since 1995.

Missouri shot a team round of 307 on Saturday, which gave them a three-round total of 909 for the regional, which left MU 25 shots out of 10th place. Sophomore Brandon Knaub led the way individually for the Tigers, as he tied for 50th place overall (73-74-77=224), after shooting a five-over par 77 on Saturday. He began Saturday tied for 31st place, and parred his first five holes, but bogeys on holes six through nine, including a double on the par four 7th.

Senior Mark McBride closed out his stellar Tiger career with a six-over par 78 for a 227 total that left him tied for 65th. Much his teammate, McBride got off to a good start, as he recorded eight straight pars on holes 1-8. But he got derailed slightly with uncharacteristic double bogeys on the par four 9th and 11th holes.

Juniors Chris Happ and Cory Ewert each shot identical 76s on Saturday, and both moved up in the individual standings. Happ went from 101st to 90th (78-76-76=230), while Ewert jumped 13 spots from 105th to 92nd (76-79-76=231). Freshman Ben Scott (82-76-84=242) finished 126th.
