COLUMBIA, Mo. - The University of Missouri will be the site of the 2002 Big 12 Men's and Women's Track & Field Outdoor Championships May 17-19. This year marks the third time Mizzou has hosted the outdoor championships, which will be held at Audrey J. Walton Stadium, since the formation of the Big 12.

"It is a privilege for the University of Missouri to be selected as the host for the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships again," MU Senior Associate Director of Athletics Gene McArtor said. "This is a premier event in the Big 12 that all track fans will have the opportunity to experience in Columbia."

In conjunction with the event the official website of University of Missouri athletics, www.mutigers.com, launches a frontpage link to information about the track meet today. Fans can find meet information, campus maps and Big 12 information as the meet gets closer and will be able to get real-time results during the Outdoor Championships.

When it comes to track & field meets, the Big 12 Outdoor Track & Field Championships is arguably one of the top 10 track & field meets in the world in any given year. The Big 12 athletes competing at the 2002 meet will prove that at Walton Stadium in May.

Three-day all-session passes are $20 for adults and $15 for seniors, college students and youth 17 and under. Single day tickets are $8/$6 and groups of 20 or more can purchase tickets for $4/person per day. All seating at the Big 12 Outdoor Championships will be general admission.

Tickets may be purchased by contacting the Missouri ticket office from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST Mon.-Fri. at 1-800-CAT-PAWS or 884-PAWS in Columbia. Tickets can also be purchased at the event.
