Des Moines, Iowa -- After postponing the meet for 1 1/2 hours Wednesday morning because of inclement weather, the first day of heptathlon and decathlon events were completed at the 2002 Drake Relays.
With four events completed in the heptathlon, Fiona Asigbee is in fourth place with 3,108 point and Abbe Ohneck is sixth with 2,922 pionts. Asigbee's time of 14.01 in the 100m hurdles is her best time of the 2002 outdoor season.
In the decathlon, Brandon Goebbert finished the first day in ninth place with 3,289 points. Goebbert tied his personal best in the 100m dash, running in 11.34 seconds.
Events resume tomorrow at 9 a.m. with the men's decathlon 110m hurdles.
