COLUMBIA, Mo.- Missouri freshman Amanda Morford came in 35th place in the 100 backstroke on Friday afternoon at the 2002 NCAA Women's Swimming and Diving Championships in Austin, Texas. Morford finished the race in a time of 56.38 seconds, her third fastest time this season and in her career. Only the top 16 swimmers in each event qualify for the consolation and championship finals at the NCAA Championships.
"Today was a great learning experience for Amanda," said Head Coach Brian Hoffer. "We hope that getting to this meet is a springboard, not only for Amanda, but for our entire program."
