The University of Missouri men's golf team finished tenth at the Louisiana Classics at Oakbourne Country Club in Lafayette, La. after shooting a 304 in the final round of play. The Tigers shot scores of 290 and 295 on Monday and finished the tournament with a final team total of 889. Southern Methodist won the team title with a three-round total of 864.
Senior Mark McBride led the Tigers individually, finishing tied for eighth in the individual standings with a three-round total of 217. He carded a 75 on Tuesday after shooting rounds of 68 and 74 on Monday.
MU freshman Ben Scott finished the tournament with a three-round total of 222 (72-70-80) to finish in a tie for 29th place. Sophomore Brandon Knaub tied for 40th place with a score of 224 (74-76-74), junior Chris Happ finished tied for 64th place with a three-round total of 230 (76-75-79) and Doug Albers shot a 237 for the three rounds to finish tied for 75th place.
Jerome Theunis of Southern Methodist won the individual title with a total of 213 (70-70-73).
Next up for the Tigers is the Birkdale Collegiate tournament this Saturday and Sunday in Charlotte, N.C.
