Final Stats

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- The home and season-opening Missouri Triangular for the Missouri Track and Field teams proved to do quite a bit of damage to the record books.

Not only were Hearnes Fieldhouse records set, but a Canadian standard and Big 12 records were also set.

Junior Christian Cantwell's 66-5.75 toss in the shot put was not only a Hearnes record, Missouri Indoor record and a personal best, but it also set the standard in the Big 12. Also in the throws, Kansas senior and Canada native Scott Russell now holds the Canadian record in the weight throw as well as the mark in the Big 12 with his toss of 77-9.50.

Two other Hearnes Fieldhouse records set at the meet were in the women's triple jump and the women's 60-meter hurdles. Ineta Radiveca of Wichita State University had a mark of 41-5.25 in the triple jump, the best mark the fieldhouse has seen since 1985. Natasha Foreman took first in the 60m hurdles and set the fieldhouse time with a 8.69 in the finals.

In other events, junior Avis Evans won both the 60m (7.67) and the 200m (25.26), sophomore Janae Strickland won the women's shot put (47-4.25), and sophomore Holly Scherder won the weight throw with a personal best throw of 53-4.25.

The Tigers will return next Friday to the Hearnes Fieldhouse for the Missouri Invitational, which will include competition from Drake, Southwest Texas and Tulsa.
