Wolfe Heads Nationally Ranked Tigers

COLUMBIA, Mo.- The Missouri Tigers have at least one swimmer ranked among the nation's top 50 in 14 different events according to Taper & Shave. Five Tigers are ranked in multiple events.

Sophomore Rebecca Wolfe, an All-American last year in the 200 butterfly, is the highest ranked Missouri swimmer. She is ranked ninth in the 200 butterfly with a time of 2:00.66. She is also ranked No. 48 in the 400 individual medley.

Freshman Mariona Costa, who has already broken school records in the 100 and 200 breaststroke, is nationally ranked in both events. Costa is ranked 14th in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.20) and is tied for 21st in the 200 breaststroke (2:17.56).

Costa isn't the lone Mizzou freshman among the nation's top 50. While Wolfe is ranked ninth in the 200 butterfly, Dawson is No. 25 in that event with a time of 2:02.71. She also ranks 37th in the country in the 100 butterfly (56.65).

Sophomore Andrea Nigh debuts in this week's top 50 ranked 21st in the 50 freestyle (23.56) and 25th in the 100 freestyle (51.07). Fellow sophomore and 2000 team MVP Sarah Lo is ranked No. 14 in the 100 backstroke (56.23) and No. 40 in the 200 backstroke (2:02.81).

Three other Missouri swimmers appear in this week's top 50. Sophomore Lizza Igoe is ranked No. 30 in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:54.54. Freshman Amanda Morford is tied for 46th in the country in the 100 backstroke (57.62) while junior Tiffany Bohon is ranked No. 39 in the nation in the 100 breaststroke (1:04.56).

Four of Missouri's five relay teams are ranked among the nation's top 20 this week. The Tigers are ranked 11th in the country in the 800 freestyle with a time of 7:32.99. The 200 freestyle relay is currently ranked 14th in the nation while both the 200 and 400 medley relay teams are ranked 20th overall. The Tigers 400 freestyle relay team is ranked No. 24 nationally.
