Wrestlers hold first practice of the year

The Missouri wrestling team took to the mats Wednesday morning for the first time this year. The 6:30 a.m. practice was the first of the season. Head Coach Brian Smith was very pleased with what he saw

"This was one of the best first days we have had," Smith said. "This is a very focused team and that was evident today."

Missouri opens the season in three weeks with a boarder war against Illinois. The match will be held at St. Charles West High School in St. Charles, Mo. The Tiger's first action in Columbia will be the 2nd Annual Missouri Open which will take place on November 18 in the Hearnes Center Fieldhouse.

The public can get a sneak peak at the Tigers at the Black and Gold Challenge matches on Nov. 2nd. The matches will be at 7:00 p.m. in the Dan Devine Pavillion and will determine the Tigers' starting lineup for the season.
