DALLAS -- Texas' Kelly Wilson, Missouri's Megan Duncan, and Baylor's Ginny Rosario-Tull were named Big 12 Soccer Players of the Week the conference office announced Tuesday.
Wilson earned Big 12 Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second straight week. The freshman forward from Odessa, Texas, scored both goals in Texas' 2-1 win over No. 4 Nebraska and then assisted on the game-winning goal in UT's 5-1 win over Iowa State with one of her three helpers on the day. Wilson fired six of the Horns' 15 shots against the Huskers and registered her second consecutive multiple-goal effort in propelling Texas to its second-ever victory over a top five team. She then assisted on three of UT's goals vs. ISU to extend the Longhorns' win streak to seven games and up her personal streak of consecutive games with at least one point to nine. Wilson continues to lead Texas in goals (9), assists (7), points (25), shots (50), shots on goal (33) and game-winning goals (3).
Duncan was named Big 12 Defensive Player of the Week after earning her fourth shutout of the season in a 2-0 victory over Colorado. The sophomore goalkeeper from Tulsa, Okla., made six saves vs. CU and knocked down seven shots while allowing one goal vs. Texas Tech. Duncan is 7-4 on the year, has made 62 saves, allowed 17 goals and holds a 1.66 goals-against average.
Rosario-Tull was named Big 12 Newcomer of the Week. The freshman forward from Mansfield, Texas, scored the Bears' first two goals in the 3-2 overtime win over Oklahoma State. In the game she fired seven shots, three of those on goal.
