Missouri/Michigan State Football Game Postponed

Sept. 13, 2001

Columbia, Mo. - The University of Missouri football contest at Michigan State University this Saturday has been postponed, as jointly announced today by both schools. In addition, Missouri is postponing all athletic competition through the weekend.

Due to overwhelming travel constraints throughout the country relating to the tragic events in New York, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania, it has become logistically impossible to ensure proper arrangements for the football game scheduled in East Lansing, Mich.

"I believe this is the appropriate course of action, particularly when you consider everything that is taking place throughout our country," said MU Director of Athletics Mike Alden. "We are actively working with Michigan State to identify a date that might be suitable for both teams to play this game," he said.

Fans holding tickets for the MU-MSU game should retain their tickets in order to gain admission to the rescheduled game. For further information, fans can contact the MU Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-CAT-PAWS, or 884-PAWS in Columbia.
