COLUMBIA, Mo. - Jayce Tingler, a junior-to-be on the Missouri baseball team, finished 17th among NCAA Division I batters in walks per game in the 2001 statistics recently released by the NCAA.
Tingler, an outfielder from Smithville, Mo., walked 43 times in 49 games. He hit .304 on the season.
Tingler missed the Tigers' final seven games after suffering a wrist injury. He had surgery and is on the road to recovery for competing in the 2002 season.
