Columbia, Mo.--The University of Missouri women's soccer team opens the 2001 season hosting Memphis and North Texas at Audrey J. Walton Soccer Complex.
In their first official game of the season, Mizzou lights up its new system for its first ever night game against Memphis. The event is scheduled for Fri., Aug. 31 at 7:00 p.m. The first 500 kids, under the age of 12, through the stadium turnstiles will receive a free Missouri soccer t-shirt. Along with the action of Tiger soccer, there will be a special lighting presentation featuring Athletic Director Michael Alden, Associate AD Sarah Reesman and MU Head Coach Bryan Blitz.
As a special promotion, all Mizzou freshmen wearing their freshmen orientation t-shirts can get into the game for a $1 admission. Students with All-Sports passes get in free.
The action resumes Sun., Sept. 2 at 1:00 p.m., when the Tigers host North Texas. Fans that supported the MU football team the night before can bring their Bowling Green ticket stubs and receive admission for $1. Following the game, the Tigers will be on hand for a special poster signing.
