Quarterback Club Schedules Pep Rally

Aug. 24, 2001

COLUMBIA, Mo. - The Columbia Quarterback Club will usher in the 2001 Mizzou football season with a free pep rally open to the public from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 29 at Memorial Stadium. Mike Kelly, the Voice of the Tigers, and KOMU Channel 8 sportscaster Chris Gervino will emcee the event.

To get fans psyched up for the season ahead, head coach Gary Pinkel -- along with seniors and captains -- will address the fans during the pep rally. Come and listen to Mini-Mizzou and the Golden Girls. Have cameras in hand for pictures with Truman the Tiger, or for a photo opportunity on the "Mizzou Air Express Fire Truck". Face painters, clowns, balloon artists, and a kid's bounce house will be on site for younger Tiger fans. The Tiger Team Store and concession stands will also be open during the Quarterback Club's event. Coach Pinkel and the players will sign autographs to wrap up the pep rally following a few words from Pinkel and an introduction of the 2001 team that plays its first game Sept. 1 at 6:30 p.m. against the Bowling Green Falcons.
