Columbia, Mo.-Alisha Robinson, an incoming freshman to the 2002 Missouri women's gymnastics team, finished fifth at the World Trampoline and Tumbling Championship in Odense, Denmark.
Robinson highlighted the competition after wining the senior elite power tumbling title at the U.S. Trampoline and Tumbling Championship June 9.
"I did ok," Robinson said. "Competing in the World Championships was fun and I really enjoyed hanging out with the other members of the team."
The Bates City, Mo., native comes to Mizzou after competing with the Great American Gymnastics Express program under coaches Al and Armine Fong and Diane Stockard. Also adding to her credits, Robinson is a four-time member of the U.S. national team.
"I am very excited to come to Missouri," Robinson said. "I think I'll bring some good experience to the team because I know what it is like to compete in a big arena. Participating at the World Championships has helped me learn what I need to do as a team player," she added.
Robinson is the first Missouri gymnast to compete at a World Championship event.
