MU's Barr Chosen To Play On Big 12 All-Star Team

June 6, 2001

COLUMBIA, Mo. -- Fresh off of the University of Missouri's own European tour, Kerensa Barr has been named one of 12 student-athletes from 11 Big 12 Conference to play on its 2001 women's basketball All-Star Tour of Austria and Germany.

Barr and the Tigers recently returned from a four-game, 12-day trip (May 25-June 5) of Belgium, Netherlands and France. Missouri posted a 4-0 record while Barr scored 54 points (second-most on the team) and led MU with 18 assists.

Barr was fifth in the Big 12 in assists with 4.62 per game, 10th in steals with 2.16 per game and fourth in assist/turnover ratio with 1.63. She averaged 8.2 points and 5.2 rebounds per game for the Tigers.

Each league school has one representative on the team except for Colorado who has two. Texas Tech will not have a representative as the Lady Raiders are conducting their own foreign tour at the same time.

The All-Star Team will assemble in Dallas on Aug. 4 for three days of practice sessions before leaving for Austria on Aug. 6. The team will play six games in Austria and Germany and return to Dallas on Aug. 17.
