Missouri's Ryan Stegall was named to the Dallas Morning News 2001 All-Big 12 team as the first-team relief pitcher.
Stegall, a junior shortstop/relief pitcher from Liberty, Mo., posted a 4-0 record with six saves and a 3.56 earned-run average. The newspaper cited his win over Texas A&M in the final game of the season. He did not allow the Aggies a hit for the first five innings before leaving after eight innings on the mound. He also added a home run in his final at-bat of the season to extend his hit streak to 18 games.
In 2001, Stegall finished with a .299 batting average and 15 home runs, the Big 12's third-best total.
