CHARLEROI, Belgium - The University of Missouri women's basketball team opened the third quarter with a 20-6 run to pick up a 93-73 win over Spirou PDL Charleroi Monday night.
Missouri led by only four points, 46-42, at halftime before the third-quarter explosion.
Kerensa Barr led the Tigers with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Tracy Franklin (16), Tracy Lozier (15), Evan Unrau (13) and Natalie Bright (11) also scored in double figures. Bright paced the team with seven assists. Missouri made 10 of 15 three-point field goals in the contest. Lozier led the way by making three in four attempts.
Charleroi opened the game shooting well, making 51.4 percent (18x35) in the first half before the Tigers' defense took over in the second half. MU forced 10 turnovers in the second half and limiting Charleroi to 39.4 percent (13x33) field goal shooting.
Missouri will take Tuesday off from game action before meeting the Blankenberge BBC (Belgium) Wednesday.
