Jefferson City, Mo. - The Missouri Senate overwhelmingly approved the University of Missouri's request for $35 million in bond appropriations today, helping pave the way for a new arena to be constructed.

The Senate approved the measure by a 25-8 count, with one Senator absent. The measure now goes to the desk of Governor Bob Holden for final approval.
