Missouri to Play in NCAA First Round

Columbia, Mo.--The University of Missouri women's basketball team (20-9) will face No. 25 Wisconsin (18-9) as the 10th seed in the first round of the NCAA Tournament. The Tigers and the Badgers will play at 7:00 p.m. EST in Athens, Ga., live on ESPN. The No. 2 seeded Georgia (26-5) hosts the tournament and faces No. 15 seeded Liberty (18-11) in the first round.

This is the first time Missouri has made a trip to the "Big Dance" under third-year head coach Cindy Stein. The Tigers made their last appearance in the NCAA Tournament as Big Eight Conference champions in 1993-94. They lost to Texas Tech (75-61) in the first round. Missouri participated in the Women's National Invitation Tournament last year where it defeated Evansville (84-81) and lost to Arkansas (89-88) in overtime.
