Box Score

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The University of Missouri baseball team suffered a 12-9 loss to Utah in Sunday's action at the Applebee's Baseball Fiesta. The Tigers went 2-1 in three games against Mountain West Conference foes over the weekend.

The Tigers, now 3-2-1, trailed 4-0 before rallying to tie the score 4-4 after three innings. Missouri took a 6-5 lead on a two-run home run by Ryan Stegall. Stegall's blast, which flew over the left-field wall, was the 23rd home run of his career. The 23 homers tie him for 10th all-time on the MU career charts with Nick Wilfong (1998-2000) and Kevin LeCompte (1984-87).

Missouri took a 7-5 lead before Utah came back to take an 8-7 edge. The Tigers scored a run in the sixth before the Utes, who have won seven of their last eight games, scored three runs in the eighth inning and added an insurance run in the ninth.

Utah had eight extra-base hits in the contest. Missouri had a season-high 16 hits as Stegall, Jon Williams and Wes Fewell each had three hits.

The Tigers are scheduled to play Creighton Wednesday at 4 p.m. at Taylor Stadium/Simmons Field.
