
Tigers Hold Off Cowgirls, 4-2

Oklahoma City, Okla. - Missouri scored the first three runs of the game and held on for a 4-2 victory over Oklahoma State in the Big 12 Softball Tournament in Oklahoma City, Okla.
The tournament's No. 8 seed, MU eliminated the No. 5 seed Cowgirls and advanced to Friday competition. Stephanie Falk went the distance for the Tigers in the circle and allowed two unearned runs on three hits while striking out three and walking none. She improved to 18-16 on the year.
Missouri scored a run in the top of the first when an Oklahoma State error allowed lead-off hitter Stacy Gemeinhardt to cross the plate with two outs. The Tigers scored two more runs in the second frame, one on an RBI-single by Gemeinhardt. Both of OSU's runs came in the fifth inning courtesy of a Missouri error. The Tigers' Sara Vassmer scored an insurance run in the top of the seventh to secure the win.
Cowgirl pitcher Lauren Bay was the victim of four OSU errors as she fell to 15-14 this season. She pitched all seven innings and did not give up an earned run.
Missouri will play Friday at 12:30 p.m. Oklahoma State finished tournament play with an 0-2 record.
