Columbia, Mo.-University of Missouri Women's Basketball Coach Cindy Stein announced today that sophomore forward Jennifer Simpson has left the Tiger women's basketball program.

"We wish Jen the best," said Stein. "I hope she finds a place where she feels she can contribute more, and again, I wish her the best."

Simpson, a 6-foot-1 native of Knoxville, Tenn., made three appearances for the Tigers this year against Eastern Illinois, Kentucky and Lipscomb. The forward scored two points against the Panthers. She also had two assists on the season. As a freshman last year, Simpson played in nine games averaging 2.3 points per game. She scored a career-high eight points and four rebounds against Illinois State, but was sidelined by a stress fracture in her foot for most of her inaugural season.
