ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) - Preston Shumpert scored 28 points, including 22 in the second half as Syracuse beat Missouri 84-62 to win the Great Alaska Shootout on Saturday.

Shumpert made only two of his nine shots the first half but Missouri couldn't handle him in the second, when he scored 10 points in the first four minutes.

Shumpert, named the tournament's outstanding player, averaged 26 points in each of his three Shootout games.

Missouri (3-1) led most of the first half on 15 points by Kareem Rush, who was 3-4 on 3-point attempts.

But Rush picked up his fourth foul with 16:57 to go and Syracuse stretched a two-point halftime lead to 46-33 with 15:40 left.

The Tigers closed to 46-41 on a steal and a dunk by Justin Gage but the Orangemen quickly built the lead back to 61-47 with balanced scoring.

Rush sat out more than seven minutes and picked up his fifth foul - again guarding Shumpert - with just under five minutes to play.

The Tigers were hurt by poor second-half foul shooting and were just 13-21 for the game.

Syracuse (4-0) also dominated the backboards, outrebounding the Tigers 45-32.

Rush led Missouri (3-1)with 21. Tajudeen Soyoye was the only other Tiger in double figures with 11.

Allen Griffin had 20 and Damone Brown had 15 for the Orangemen.
