The University of Missouri women's soccer team travels to San Antonio, Texas to compete in the 2000 Big 12 Soccer Championships Wed.-Sat., Nov. 1-4. The Tigers enter the tournament as the sixth seed and will play their first match against the No. 3 Baylor on Wed., Nov. 1 at 1:30 p.m. The winner of the game will play the Nebraska-Kansas victor on Thurs., Nov. 2 at 5:00 p.m. The championship game is scheduled for Sat., Nov. 4 at 7:30 p.m.
Scouting the Tigers
Missouri is 10-9 on the season with a 5-5 Big 12 Conference mark. Seven of the Tigers' nine losses were to teams ranked in the Top 25 sometime throughout the season including, No. 3 ranked Nebraska, No. 6 ranked California and No. 9 ranked Texas A&M. Adding to MU's victories, the Tigers own victories over No. 17 ranked Florida State (2-1).
Mizzou averages 1.8 goals and 15.6 shots per game and has a .456 shot on goal percentage taking 135 of 296 attempts to the net. The Tigers also post 27 assists on the season.
In the Big 12, MU ranks fourth with 298 shots, 95 points, 34 goals and in assists. The Tiger goalkeeping staff also posts MU in fourth with 114 saves and averaging 6.0 saves per game.
Recent Results
MU rounded out the 2000 regular season with a 4-1 victory over Kansas Oct. 27. The Tigers out shot the Jayhawks 19-11 and logged eight shots on goal. The win drops Kansas into eighth-place in conference standings. They will play No. 1 seeded Nebraska in the opening day of Big 12 Championship competition.

Knockout Nikki
Senior Nikki Thole dished out two assists in MU's 4-1 victory over Kansas to lead the Tigers with 25 points and nine assists. She has taken a team high 77 shots and 35 shots on goal for a .455 shot on goal percentage.
In the Big 12, Thole ranks third in overall shots and a 4.29 shots per game average. She is fourth in the league averaging .53 assists per game and is tied for sixth in points averaging 1.47 points per game. Thole is ninth in the conference in goals.
Dynamite Davis
Freshman Adriene Davis is second on the team with 24 points. She leads the team with 10 goals, and also owns four assists. The forward leads the team with a .587 shot on goal percentage taking 27 of 46 shots to the net. She also leads the Tigers with four game-winning goals.
Davis scored a pair of goals in MU's 4-1 victory over Kansas. She put the Tigers on the board in the 13th minute when she collected a cross from senior Nikki Thole to launch a five-yard rocket. She and Thole also matched up to score the final goal in the game.
In Big 12 standings, Davis is tied for third in goals and comes in eighth in points and points per game (1.32). She is also tied for third with four game-winning goals.
Tiger Talk
*Senior Amy Timmermann ranks third for the Tigers with 11 points. She scored one goal against Kansas to boost her season goal total to five. Timmermann also lent an assist to lead the MU record books with 24 career assists.
*Senior Jennifer McMaster is fourth on the team with nine points. The forward owns three goals and three assists. She scored scored the game-winner against Kansas and dished out an assist in the game.
*Midfielder Steph Brennan owns six points to rank fifth on the team. She has two goals and two assists and is shooting at 50 percent making eight of 16 shots on goal.
*Junior Mandy Waters leads the defensive squad with two points. She has dished out two assists this season and taken six shots.
*Goalkeeper Stephanie Krawczyk is 3-3 on the year with a 1.90 goals against average. She has played 472:33 minutes, allowed ten goals and made 36 saves.
*Freshman Megan Duncan, despite being sidelined by fractured ribs, continues to top the MU goalkeeping charts. She played 740:25 minutes, owns a 1.46 goals against average and has made 43 saves. She ranks eighth in the Big 12 Conference with three shutouts.
