Softball Goes 1-1 Vs. KU & ASU

Oct. 21, 2000

Missouri Softball won one and lost one Saturday, defeating Kansas 2-1 but losing to ASU 5-0.

The first game of the day against Arizona State was close till the seventh inning, when ASU's Shiloh Talanoa hit a three-run homer to score ASU's last points of the day. The Tigers had two hits vs. ASU.

The Kansas game went much better for the Tigers, as junior Erin Erickson hit her third home run of the season in the third inning, knocking in two runs. The tigers went scoreless the rest of the game, but those two runs combined with their defensive effort would prove to be enough as the Tigers defeated KU 2-1.

The third game of the Saturday round-robin found KU against ASU, where the Sun Devils beat the Jayhawks 16-0.

The Tigers will play one more Sunday against Arizona State at 11 a.m. at Columbia's University Field.
