Missouri Softball Loses Sixth Straight

The cold dismal weather was a reflection of the Tigers' (29-22, 5-9) mood after a 5-0 loss to Southeast Missouri in St. Louis today. A doubleheader was scheduled, but the second game was cancelled because of rain.

Missouri got a base runner on in the second inning on an error by the Otahkian shortstop. Southeast Missouri got a base runner on in every inning, but were not able to score until the third inning. They scored on a three-run homer by Renee Enos. They added their fourth run on an RBI-single in the fourth inning. The fifth run came in the sixth inning. Courtney Eklund scored from thrid on a Christy Caccavo wild pitch.

Jenny Doehring got the win for Southeast Missouri. Stephanie Falk took the loss for the Tigers. Her record moves to 14-14. She was relieved by Christy Caccavo with one out in the fourth inning.

The Tigers play their last road games this weekend in Lubbock, Texas. They will play at 1 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
