COLUMBIA, MO, March ___ Six-eight inches of heavy snow on Friday night has forced cancellation of the Missouri-Oklahoma State baseball series, scheduled for this weekend at Taylor Stadium at Simmons Field.
The games will not be re-scheduled.
It marks the second straight year that the MU-OSU series has been cancelled due to snow.
Missouri Coach Tim Jamieson said the wet, heavy consistency of Friday night's snow would not allow for removal of the snow from the field without causing severe damage to the playing surface.
The Tigers are back in action at 7 p.m. Tuesday, when they host the Arkansas State Indians. That series continues with a 3 p.m. game on Wednesday, before the Bowling Green Falcons come to town for a three-game set, Friday-Saturday-Sunday.
