The University of Missouri men's and women's swimming and diving teams took to the pool again after a month hiatus from competition. MU did not appear to lose a step either as both teams defeated SMS. The women won with a score of 168-113, improving their record to 6-2 while the men handed SMS a 160-121 loss taking their record to 4-1.
The Tiger women claimed ten victories while sweeping the top three spots in six events. Three women, Leslie Hoh, Sarah Stowe and Molly Vetter all had two wins during the meet. Hoh, the Big XII Swimmer-of-the-Month for December, won the 200 IM and the 200 breast while Sarah Stowe claimed the 200 back and the 1,000 free. Stowe's time in the 200 back was a personal best for the freshman. Sophomore Molly Vetter stepped up again for Mizzou winning the 200 and 500 free in solid mid-season times. Senior Erika Kalocinski also claimed her first dual meet victory as a Tiger winning the 200 fly.
"The women swam solid," said head coach Brian Hoffer. " Molly and Leslie did what they have continually done for us all season. Sarah and Erika turned in good swims for this time of the season as well."
