COLUMBIA, Mo. (AP) - Brian Grawer hit 6-of-6 3-point attempts and scored a career-high 27 points to lead Missouri to a 75-64 win over Iowa State Wednesday night.
Missouri's two seniors, Monte Hardge and John Woods, each made a significant contribution on Senior Night. Woods scored 15 points and Hardge added 13 for the Tigers (19-7, 10-6 Big 12).
Marcus Fizer, the Big 12's second-leading scorer, paced Iowa State with 24 points. The Cyclones (14-14, 5-10) have lost six of their last seven games.
Missouri jumped to a big lead in the opening minutes. A technical foul on Iowa State coach Larry Eustachy allowed Missouri to score seven points on a single offensive possession.
Grawer was fouled shooting a 3-pointer with 8:01 remaining in the first half. After he missed the first free throw, Eustachy was given the technical while complaining about the foul disparity. Missouri had been called for just one foul, while Iowa State had been whistled for five.
Grawer hit the next two free throws, then converted both technical foul shots. Woods completed the possession with a 3-pointer, and Missouri held a 25-9 lead.
Iowa State drew to within nine points when Rodney Hampton hit an acrobatic reverse layup with 20 seconds left in the half. But Grawer's third 3-pointer of the half, as the buzzer sounded, gave the Tigers momentum and a 38-26 halftime lead.
Missouri began the second half on a 10-4 run, including 3-pointers from both Woods and Grawer, and the Tigers led 48-30.
After Grawer's 3-pointer gave Missouri a 59-43 lead with 9:05 left in the game, the Cyclones scored seven unanswered points capped by Michael Nurse's 3-pointer.
Albert White, who had 16 points and 12 rebounds, got free for a slam dunk with 5:00 left to end the run.
Missouri's freshman point guard, Keyon Dooling, returned to action after missing one game with a sprained ankle but played only three minutes.
