Columbia, Mo. - College basketball fans who pined to see a Norm Stewart vs. Charlie Spoonhour matchup over the years will finally get their wish ? sort of, that is.
Stewart and Spoonhour, who both retired from coaching this past spring, will team to give color analysis of the Missouri-Saint Louis game this Sunday at the TWA Dome in St. Louis, Mo. The game will be televised on the Mizzou Sports Network, and will tip at 3:30 p.m.
Stewart retired in April after winning 731 games in 38 seasons. He led Mizzou to a school-record 634 wins in 32 years, and led the Tigers to eight conference championships and 17 NCAA Tournament appearances. He retired as the seventh-winningest coach in NCAA history when he stepped down in April, after guiding the Tigers to a 20-9 record and an NCAA berth during the 1998-99 season.
Spoonhour retired in March after his seventh season at Saint Louis University, where he led the Billikens to three NCAA Tournament appearances and a 122-90 record. He previously coached for nine years at Southwest Missouri State, where he compiled a 197-81 record. His 16-year career mark stands at 319-171.
