Four Missouri women's tennis players will travel to Provo, Utah, to participate in the Rolex Invitational sponsored by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). Freshman Kristina Olshanskaya, sophomores Julie Thomas and Caitlin Thompson and senior Joni Jordan will be among those playing in the Central Region section of the tournament. Olshanskaya and Thompson were selected for singles main draw and as qualifiers for doubles while Thomas and Jordan were selected as singles qualifiers and as a main draw in doubles.
"I am pumped about this tournament," head coach Blake Starkey said. "Rolex is a very prestigious tournament and Provo is a beautiful place to play."
Missouri will get a taste of some of its regular season opponents. The Air Force Academy, St. Louis University, Southeast Missouri State, Southwest Missouri State, and Tulsa are among the Tigers non-conference opponents that could have a showing at Rolex. Several Big 12 schools are also in the Central Region including Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State.
The Rolex Invitational starts Friday, November 5 and continues through Monday, November 8.
