Volleyball Struggles In Boulder

The Missouri Tigers (8-11, 2-6) faced their fifth ranked opponent of the season, taking on the 20th ranked Colorado Buffaloes (11-6, 5-3) in Boulder, Colo. The Buffs won in three games, 15-5, 15-8, 15-8. Missouri had several chances in the last two games, but were unable to pull out the victory.
Junior Heather Gerber and sophomore Krista Johnson gave a solid offensive effort for the Tigers. Gerber was 4-for-6, hitting .667 while Johnson was 5-for-7 with a .571 clip. Johnson also tallied four blocks (3 BA, 1 BS). Missouri finished the match with eight team blocks, but Colorado came at them with 12.5 team blocks.
Missouri also had help from freshman Christi Myers. Myers played in all three games, recording 13 kills in 29 attempts. She also combined for three block assists.
The Tigers will face their second ranked opponent of the week when they travel to Nebraska on Oct. 20, to take on the Cornhuskers.
