In front of 3,763 fans at the Coliseum in Lincoln, Neb., the Missouri Tigers (8-12, 2-7) fell to the 13th ranked Cornhuskers (5-15, 11-15, 1-15). Missouri out-attacked Nebraska (15-4, 7-2) 114-89, but had too many errors to make the attacks count. The Tigers also faced their toughest blocking opponent, so far, as they were outblocked 17-4.
Sophomore Rachael Taylor got her first start of the season at setter and went on to play the entire match. She played well, recording 39 assists, a new career-high, but was unable to help the Tigers to a win. Freshman Nicole Panzau attacked the ball hard, notching 10 kills, and also played well defensively, recording nine digs.
Missouri is home for one match this weekend, taking on Texas Tech at the Hearnes Center in Columbia. Then they head to Lawrence, Kan., to take on arch rival Kansas on Oct. 27.
