Tiger Softball Scores Big

Columbia, Mo. - The Tiger softball team scored 26 runs in two games, while only giving up three as they faced Avila College and Meremac Community College in fall play.

The Tigers beat Avila College 14-0 in the first game. it was their biggest win of the falkl season and their seventh shutout. Sarah McNeal and Kristin Burke each had a double and Stacy Gemeinhardt, Linda Swarts, Amy Farmer and Dara Throneburg each added a triple for the Tigers. Freshman pitcher ingrid Werner picked up the win, her third of the fall season.

Missouri faced Meremac Community College in the second game of the day, defeating them 12-3. The Tigers opened the game by scoring seven runs in the first inning. Sophomore Mary McGrane had the play of the day, hitting a homerun over the scoreboard with the bases loaded.

The Tigers will wrap up their fall season next weekend. They will take on Arizona State Friday at 2 p.m. and play double headers against Arizona State and UMKC on Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
