COLUMBIA, Mo.- University of Missouri head women's basketball coach Cindy Stein announced that practice on Sat., Oct 16, will be open to the public. Missouri fans and media are invited to catch a glimpse of the 1999-00 Missouri Tigers in their first official practice of the season prior to Missouri's Homecoming football game vs. Iowa State. Practice begins at 2:00 p.m. and will run until 4:30 p.m.
The 1999-00 squad returns four starters from a year ago, including three-time all-conference guard Julie Helm, the sixth leading scorer in Missouri history. Joining Helm and company this season are eight outstanding newcomers that include two first-team junior college All-Americans in Amanda Lassiter and Marlena Williams. Coach Stein has also added the Missouri High School Player-of-the-Year, Kerensa Barr, from West Plains, Mo.
