Columbia, Mo. - The National Fastpitch Coaches Association recently released the nations top All-Academic Softball teams. The ranking is based on team's cumulative GPAs. Missouri is tied at 24th with a 3.140 GPA.

Missouri is the only team that was ranked in the top 25 in both the Aacademic list and in the 1999 regular season poll. MIssouri's final rank was 15. Only four other teams in the top 52 academically were either in the top 25 or recieving votes in the 1999 final poll.

"This says a lot for our team," said head coach Jay Miller. "To be the only team in tha neation that was ranked in the top 25 academically, as well as finish in the top 25 is a tremendous honor. It is a tribute to the players hard work and effort."
