Women's Soccer Gets Ready for the Weekend

October 16, 1998

On Friday Oct. 16th Missouri Women's Soccer takes on Big 12 foe Iowa State. In 1997, th Cyclones handed the Tigers a heartbreaking 3-4 overtime loss. In a series now tied at 1-1, the Tigers are looking to jump ahead, and return ISU's favor from last season. The 1997 Big 12 Co-Coach of the Year, ISU's Cathy Klein, rested her team well last weekend and scheduled one game for last week.

Currently leading the Big 12, Nebraska has steadily moved up the National Rankings to No. 12. Missouri is only a team behind the Cornhuskers with their current ranking of third in the Big 12. The Tigers have yet to win in this series, however if there was ever a year for an upset this could be it. Missouri's Erin Grimsley is leading the Big 12 in points per game in conference play. While overall sophomore forward Nikki Thole is just trailing Nebraksa's Kim Engesser with total offense. Nebraksa plays Kansas on Friday the 16th.
