COLUMBIA, Mo.- Sophomore outfielder J.R. Warner was named co-Big 12 Player of the Week on Monday afternoon. Warner went 12-for-18 on the week at the plate with two home runs, six RBI, and seven runs scored. He went 10-for-13 against Jacksonville State in a three-game series this past weekend.
Warner saw his batting average go from .278 on Tuesday to .373 following Sunday's doubleheader.
The Chesterfield, Mo. native became the third Missouri player to be tabbed by the Big 12 this season. Freshman shortstop Ryan Stegall and junior pitcher Jody Harris have also earned the award this season.
