COLUMBIA, Mo.- The Missouri Tigers took both games in Wednesday's double-header against the Kangaroos of UMKC. The Tigers only needed four and a half innings in the first game to beat the Kangaroos. The 9-0 Tiger slaughter began in a three-run first inning. The Tigers capitalized on five hits and an error to take the early lead. Kangaroo pitcher Emily Montesano (8-6) began the game by walking leadoff hitter, Stacy Gemeinhardt. After stealing second, Gemeinhardt forced her way to third on an error by shortstop, Becky Burger, and scored on Wendy Harrison's RBI single to center. The Tiger bats did not end there, as Christy Skouby doubled three batters later to bring home two more.

The Tigers scored solo runs in the second and third innings, ending Montesano's brief appearance for the afternoon.

Relief pitcher Erin Brown did not fair much better, giving up four runs in the fourth. Kim Slover, Amy Farmer and Erin Erickson all picked up their second hits of the game to help secure the Tiger victory.

Although the Tiger's no.1 pitcher, Stephanie Falk, struggled at times, she managed to pitch her second straight shutout. Falk struck out two of three in the top of the fifth, as she finished the game with six.

Christy Caccavo took over for the struggling Tiger offense in the second game. While Mizzou managed only three runs off Kangaroo southpaw Brown, Caccavo used her savvy to handcuff the Kansas City hitters, allowing only five hits in another shutout.
