Tiger Wrestling Ambushed By Wyoming 30-7

Laramie, Wyoming - The MU wrestling squad was beaten Saturday night by the Wyoming Cowboys 30-7 in dual action. The Tigers are now 0-4 in 1999 dual meets, the win improved Wyoming to 3-3-1 on the season.

Junior Jeff Urban (149) and senior Matt Webster (157) gained wins for the Tigers. Urban won his match on a takedown of Justin Gonzales at the 6:20 mark to win the match 10-2. The win was Jeff's third straight, he is now 3-1 in dual action and 14-7 overall. Webster, now starting at 157, has wrestled well of late dating back to the Great Plains Open where he was 4-1 and earned a third place finish. Saturday's win was the first dual win of the season for the senior from Washington, Illinois. Matt is 13-5 overall.

The rest of the Tigers were brought down by the Cowboy squad. Freshman John Kopnisky (165) (3-1) lost his first dual match of the season 10-7 after taking a tie score into the third period. Junior Jake Lapinsky gave up a win when he was pinned while leading 7-5.
