The Missouri women's volleyball team split matches this weekend. The Tigers fell 3-0 to No. 25 Kansas State and defeated Evansville 3-0.
Against Kansas State, the Tigers stormed out to a 12-6 lead over the Wildcats. Kansas State fought back and won the game 15-13 and the match, taking the last two games 15-8 and 15-4. Missouri was led by Annette Luyten with eight kills. Missouri outblocked the Wildcats 9-5 but it was not enough.
The Tigers defeated Evansville in straight games, 15-10, 15-11, 15-12. Sophomore Annette Luyten led the Tigers with nine kills. Chandra Hopkins and Renee Rosinski each added eight kills, giving the Tigers the balanced attack.
Missouri improves to 11-8 overall and 2-4 in Big 12 play. The Tigers travel to Oklahoma and Kansas next weekend.
