Men's Hoops Falls to Big 12 Rival Nebraska

LINCOLN, Neb. - Venson Hamilton had 16 points and 11 rebounds as Nebraska defeated No. 24 Missouri 69-61 Saturday.

Hamilton also had six assists and three blocked shots and was the only player to score in double figures for the Cornhuskers (15-8, 7-3 Big 12).

Larry Florence grabbed two offensive rebounds in the final two minutes and hit a key hook shot to hold off a late rush by Missouri (16-5, 7-3).

Brian Grawer hit a layup and then a 3-pointer to pull the Tigers within 60-56 with 2:44 remaining. Clarence Gilbert's steal and layup 21 seconds later had the Tigers within 60-58.

Nebraska forced 12 turnovers in the first half and shot 63 percent to take a 39-28 halftime lead.

Grawer had all but three of his 19 points in the second half, while Gilbert finished with 11.
