COLUMBIA, Mo. - Albert White hit two baskets in a Missouri run that turned back a Nicholls State rally and finished with 19 points as the Tigers defeated the Colonels 66-57 Tuesday.
John Woods had 14 points as Missouri (4-1) won its third straight.
James Banks hit three 3-pointers to lead Nicholls State (1-5) with 19 points.
Missouri, which forced the Colonels into 21 turnovers, went on a 7-0 run after Nicholls State was within 52-49 on a 3-pointer by Banks.
Brian Grawer made a layup, White hit two baskets and Jeff Hafer made a free throw in the run.
The Colonels scored six straight, but Woods' layup with 1:02 left sealed Missouri's victory.
Down 24-12 with 6:35 remaining in the first half, Nicholls State responded with an 11-0 run as 7-foot center Cedric Marie scored six of his nine points.
But Missouri reopened a 34-25 lead at the half.
