On Friday, the Columbia Tiger Quarterback Club will host the annual Black-and-Gold Golf Tournament at Columbia Country Club, with the shotgun start coming at 10:30 a.m. Persons interested in playing should contact the Tiger Development Office at 882-0704.
Friday night, the Missouri baseball team opens a Big 12 Conference series against the Oklahoma Sooners at Simmons Field. Game time is 7 p.m. The Tigers, 23-13, have won nine straight games - tied for the nation's third longest current winning streak.
Saturday morning, the annual FunFest begins along Deaver Drive (east side of Memorial Stadium) at 10 a.m. Included in the FunFest activities is the Schnuck's "Battle of the Pits" barbecue contest, children's games, sport booths staffed by coaches and athletes of various MU athletic teams, helmet cart rides, Truman the Tiger and much more.
Following the football game, the MU-OU baseball series continues at 4 p.m. A football ticket stub will grant admission to the baseball game. It will be televised nationwide by Fox Sports Net - the first time a Missouri home baseball game has been televised outside the State of Missouri. Bill Land and Jack Lazorko will be the announcers.
The series concludes with a 1 p.m. game on Sunday.
