COLUMBIA, Mo. - In a game that was added to the schedule just seven hours before the first pitch, the Missouri Tigers (33-17) defeated Fontbonne College (34-13) by a score of 13-0 in the first ever meeting between the two the schools. Missouri wraps up the regular season, as well its days at the old Simmons Field, this weekend starting Friday night against the Bradley Braves.
Missouri scored three runs in the second inning and two each in the fourth and fifth innings to jump out to a 7-0 lead. The Tigers would add six more runs in the eighth inning. Mike Rallo (3-for-4) led the Mizzou offensive attack with three hits and three RBI. Ryan Stegall also chipped in three hits and two RBI while Ryan Pickett went 2-for-4 with two runs batted in.
Logan Dale pitched six scoreless innings for the Tigers for his seventh win of the year. Dale scattered five hits and struck out six. Stegall made his second career pitching appearance in the ninth inning and pitched a perfect frame.
John Wright picked up the loss for Fontbonne. Sean Fales pitched 2 2/3 innings of scoreless baseball for the Griffons.
